My history lessons for me began with my attending Kennedy King College in Chicago, with Dr. Burroughs. She did not know how she changed by view of why are we here in America. At the age of 11 while visiting my cousins in Jackson, Mississippi, I witnessed a riot that was on the campus that day. I lived in a small town in Illinois and at the time the civil unrest was just on TV. I wondered what was going on. I still do!!
