I learned about African American history from my late grandparents Edgar and Susie Cunningham who were born down where my grandfather was from Louisiana and my grandmother was from Mississippi . Thank you Mr. Gates for writing The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross. I watch the program on PBS and I am looking forward to read the book also. I hope and pray that in that book there will be something about the contribution of the African Americans in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. It’s been 100 years. They face the hardness of racism and discrimination they should be recognized in the African American history and community.
