Growing up I was blessed to learn African American and family heritage from the elders of my family. With 1 grandmother, 1 grandfather & 2 VERY wise great grandmothers who’d both survived the Jim Crow South, we never lacked learning about the strength of our people. They had a reverence for what our people endured & an appreciation for what we’d achieved. My passion & commitment to history was birthed sitting in the kitchen listening my grandparents vividly retell our African American experience & triumphs!:)
