I learned about the struggles of African Americans for the first time in my home with my mother . She would explain our history. But I took a turn into a deeper understanding of our story in high school, 11th grade.  Mr. Williams showed us the Eyes on the Prize series and I came alive! I began to answer my phone “ready for the revolution.” I’m a teacher and former social worker. I know that played a role in my path as an adult .
