Luciano Pavarotti - Italian tenor
Born 1935 in Modena, Italy

Luciano Pavarotti's career reportedly began shortly after his birth, when a doctor was said to have remarked that his unusually strong high voice destined him to one day become a tenor. How right they were. Pavarotti is easily one of the most identifiable opera stars of the modern age. After his debut in 1961 Pavarotti began a journey that would win him acclaim not just in major opera houses but as a pop icon. A busy performer, he is as easily comfortable appearing with Miss Piggy as he is headlining for the New York's Metropolitan Opera House.
