Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - 1791

Three ladies attendant on the Queen of the Night save Prince Tamino from a serpent. The Prince hears that Pamina, the daughter of the Queen of Night, has been enslaved by the "evil" Sarastro. He then goes to the Temple of Sarastro with the birdcatcher Papageno to rescue her. Tamino is told by a High Priest that it is the Queen, not Sarastro who is evil. He is glad to hear that Pamina is safe. Sarastro tells his priests that Tamino will undergo initiation rites, in which he must overcome several trials imposed upon him. He faces the tests and successfully completes them. The Queen of the Night and her ladies attack the temple, but are defeated and banished.
