Sandburg was not only a poet but also a noted collector and performer of American folk music.

The American Songbag was published in 1927. It includes the words and music to over 280 American tradionals, some of which have been covered by the likes of Johnny Cash (“Careless Love” with Bob Dylan), The Beach Boys (“The John B. Sails” aka “Sloop John B”), and Arthur Russell (“I Ride An Old Paint” aka “Goodbye Old Paint”). See images from its original printing.

Published in 1922, Rootabaga Stories is the story of a make-believe American Midwest. See images of its original book cover and edits to its preface.

I may have an original copy of “Fog” that was written by Sandburg in India Ink on vellum to Otto Harbach in 1950. It is in very good condition. It was a gift to me in the 1970’s. I was just wondering if it is an original and if it has any value. Thanks for your consideration. J. David Moman 317-440-6649
