The data is in. Supporting alternatives to “one human = one car” is the only way forward. Turning every road into a highway is not working any more. You can’t build your way out of congestion, pollution, traffic fatalities, obesity, oil addiction, etc. It’s great to see that the House transportation committee understands the immense importance of new transportation priorities.

We must rethink transportation spending away from new highway and toward mass transit programs. I support increasing the budget and placing a floor on the price of gas to make car transportation incrementally less appealing.
