I too moved to Buckeye, AZ from Southern California --only my family and I came here from the High Desert region. All I can say Jean is please, please go back to the OC. Desert people are perfectly happy with the landscaping suited to 112° heat. Trees are not native to the desert, nor water wasting lawns and tropical plants. I left the High Desert area because LA city people came and warped the natural environment to create a "beautiful community" like the city they were trying to escape. If you can't find the beauty in the desert, don't stay. There are those of us who find true beauty in this unique and wonderful environment and, believe it or not, we aren't all trashy. I get tired of all your kind equating the desert as trashy.

I moved to Buckeye a year ago, from Orange County CA. I do not believe this town will ever grow for the good as stated it in the artical. I have seen tooooo many first time buyer move in & out & the one's that stay seem to only care for their ourside toys more then they do their homes. They do not take pride in keeping up the neighbor hood or their homes. They do not grow trees to protect their property from the 112% heat, or to beautify their area. Everyone here seems to only live here to live somewhere. Do they not understand that this could be a beautiful community and that if real estate does ever climb again that they would not get much for their home(s) because of the way the area looks. How do I make it clear that trashy people only live trashy. I almost hate it here & regret moving here.

There is misinformation in the article. Community Development has not downsized staff and Buckeye does have a comprehensive plan for land use and development. If you visit the town's website, you will be able to find it there.
