Lack of Infrastructure.
Due to grassroots efforts by people who belong to the Sunset Marketing and Revitalization Team, the Mississippi State Senate has passed a Resolution supporting the restoration of the Sunset Limited
east of New Orleans.
With the Sunset Route spanning the entire lower U.S. from California to Jacksonville FL, it is the only transcontinental route in America.
Since Katrina the route has been truncated in New Orleans, and the rest of the Gulf Coast has been without passenger rail.
Below you will find the link to the resolution that was passed.
Please take the time to read it carefully and you will see why the Sunset is important to all of us who are fortunate enough to live on the Gulf Coast.

How do we get on the e-mail list for the Miller Center for discussions and events that are open to the public?

John, if you visit the Miller Center website, there is a link at the top right of the screen that allows you to sign up for Miller Center e-mail notifications. Most public events take place in Charlottesville, but almost all live events (including Debates and Forums) are streamed online, and then later archived on the Miller Center website, so you can view them at your convenience.

Hope this information helps.
