About the Writer
Laurence Maslon is a Master Teacher at the Graduate Acting Program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In addition, he teaches courses at NYU's Undergraduate Drama and the MFA Musical Theatre Writing Programs. He wrote the story and teleplay for the acclaimed PBS AMERICAN MASTERS documentary RICHARD RODGERS: THE SWEETEST SOUNDS (2001), and organized two Rodgers projects for the Chicago Humanities Festival. He has also written for STAGEBILL, SHOW MUSIC, THE AMERICAN NATIONAL BIOGRAPHY, and a history of Broadway for volume three of the CAMBRIDGE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN THEATRE. In addition to creating concert programs for Carnegie Hall and moderating pre-show seminars for Encores!, Mr. Maslon is currently editing the comedies of George S. Kaufman for the Library of America. In conjunction with Michael Kantor, he has co-written Episodes 1 and 6 of BROADWAY: THE AMERICAN MUSICAL series.
