The oldest of six kids, I grew up in a safe suburb of San Diego with loving, hard working parents. Attended parochial school through eighth grade, public high school, community college, state university and top 10 public law school. Worked multiple jobs from 13 years old through college and paid for all of my college education. Studied abroad, traveled extensively, married at 37, three college educated sons, 30 years as a college professor, full benefits and secure retirement, few life bumps- yes, I believe I have achieved the American Dream!
