OF MASTERS AND SERVANTS (continued)
Freedom
No servant will be given his freedom until he has served his time with his master or some other shall buy out his time.
Upon Completion of Service
Upon the completion of his term of service, a servant is to receive a new suit of clothes, an axe and a hoe from his master. And if it is indicated in his contract, he shall receive a grant of some acres of land from the Colony, in a location to be laid out by the Governor.
Illness
If a servant within this Colony shall, by Gods providence, fall diseased, lame, or impotent on the way or after they come here, they shall be maintained and provided for by their masters during the term of their service. Their masters may release them out of their service afterwards, to be taken care of by the Colony.
