FOR THE REGULATION OF TRADE AND RELATIONS WITH
THE INDIANS
Alcohol
Providing the Indians with strong water, beer, wine, or any spirits will not be tolerated.
Punished by whipping or levying fines.
Weapons
No Indians will be provided with weapons or firearms from the Colony.
Punished by banishment from the Colony.
Trade
No man whatsoever shall barter or trade with the Indians, unless appointed by the Governor.
Punished by banishment from the Colony.
Conduct toward Indians
No man shall take away anything from any Indian coming to trade by robbing with force or violence, or otherwise.
Punished by death.
Living with Indians
No man or woman shall run away from the Colony to live with the Indians.
Punished by death.
Food
In light of the possible scarcity of food, it is ordained that no animals, corn, beans, squash, or other foods be sold outside the Colony until its need are provided for first.
Punishments included loss of the goods, plus a fine and further punishment, at the discretion of the Governor.
