Nolan Zane: Many Asian families, particularly immigrant families, the focus is on work, doing well in school preparing yourself for a career, so when people have mental health problems they don’t see how counseling and psychotherapy services is going to help them with their work, with their school. So the challenge for the therapist is to show the client or the family in the first few sessions look, this will help you do better in school, or on the job. A lot of times that connection is not made.
