Mission: Connecting Iowans of abilities through arts experiences and education.
Founder: Founder Jacqueline Merritt of Dubuque was voted outstanding Dubuque Citizen in the arts in the late 1980s. During the 1980s Ms. Merritt served on the VSA National Board of Directors.
Founded: 1977
Vision: VSA will have more than 200 artists with disabilities on their roster and serve more than 10,500 children in classrooms annually through teacher training and artists in the classroom. The dance, drama and visual arts classes will be offered across the state for youths with disabilities and their peers.
