Founder: Kim Stafford, Director of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis & Clark College, author, poet, and former Folklife Program Director
Founded: 1988
Vision: We are committed to expanding our educational programs and outreach to give students and educators more opportunities to work with traditional artists and to learn about folk arts, culture and identity. We strive to serve under-represented rural and ethnic communities through innovative public arts and folklife programs.

"My grandma has taught me that we should keep up with world today, but we shouldn’t forget our cultural traditions. She says to keep it in your heart and not to forget it or else you won't know very much about your culture to teach." -- Kasandra Naomi Castellanoz, age 12, granddaughter of Eva Castellanoz, National Heritage Fellow
