Organization
Mission: New Hampshire Theatre Project uses theatre and the performing arts to build and sustain community connections, enhance traditional education, and enhance the individual and collective human spirit.
Founder: New Hampshire Theatre Project grew out of Kitchensink Productions, an educational theatre company which was created in 1977 by Genevieve Aichele and Dennis Mclaughlin and toured throughout the United States. Current artistic director Genevieve Aichele has served as a consultant with the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the New Hampshire Department of Education. She has received national awards for her performances and recordings with musician Randy Armstrong.
Founded: 1988
Vision: New Hampshire Theatre Project has been primarily an outreach organization for most of its existence, although we do offer some classes at our local studio. We are currently in negotiations to obtain a theater facility of our own, which will offer us a home base from which to build on our current programs and to produce long-running educational performances. We plan to expand the Youth Repertory Company and to continue building our artists-in-residence programs, integrating with traditional education curriculum.
Honors: NHTP is on the New Hampshire State Council Arts in Education roster and the New England States Touring roster.

"At New Hampshire Theatre Project, we emphasize cooperation and ensemble performance rather than the "star system," and acting technique rather than elaborate costumes and scenery. We encourage our students to strive for excellence, but remember to have fun. NHTP believes that theatre and the performing arts are powerful ways of promoting self-confidence, critical thinking, creativity, empathy and communication skills--in other words, skills that help us become happier and more productive people." -- Genevieve Aichele, Artistic Director
