Originated in 1981 as a civic dance company, Nashville Ballet became a professional company in 1986. Current Artistic Director, Paul Vasterling originated DancePower, Nashville Ballet's outreach and educational programs, in 1995.

Art Education increases creative thinking, problem-solving skills and a love of the arts. The benefits that come with dance education are endless and include self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, balance, rhythm and coordination. Many of Nashville Ballet's programs are designed to encourage creative thinking through reading. It is our goal to build a love of dance in our community and to help build a better community through education.
