Mission: To foster an environment in which the arts can be learned, experienced and expressed. The Visual Arts Center is committed to represent a multiplicity of aesthetic and cultural expressions.
Founder: The Visual Arts Center opened under the auspices of both the Yaquina Art Association, a local artists group, and the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts.
Founded: 1984
Vision: The Center will seek to expand its education program, to present exhibitions that both support local artists and bring in high caliber and well-known artists to our small community, and to increase our importance and visibility as part of what makes our community a destination for visitors and a great place to live.
Honors: Most recently, the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts has been recognized by the Oregon Arts Commission for its local administration of the Inside/Out program, a nationwide effort to encourage young people to explore the arts.
