Mission: To encourage creative expression by providing residents of the greater Ketchikan area an opportunity and avenue for creative endeavors; to foster education, understanding and appreciation of the arts and humanities by promoting the development of cultural opportunities, performances, instructions and exhibits; to build community support for the arts and humanities; and to advise public bodies on matters affecting he cultural affairs of the community.

Vision: The KAAHC and First City Players worked throughout 2000 exploring the Coliseum Theatre on Mission Street as a possible location to house a new Ketchikan Arts Center to host an even larger roster of programs and services for the community.

Programs: Performing Artists in the Schools, outreach programs in the schools with professional visiting artists; ArtsCool, Summer Fine Arts Camp for Youth (60 students in fine arts and 55 students in performing arts); Public performing arts concerts; Twice-annual Art Walks gallery tours; Supporting the First City Players, community theater organizations, the Ketchikan Community Chorus and the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet.
