Mission: The intent of the program is to build upon these existing competencies and to enhance them in several ways: to nurture the skills already possessed by the students and to encourage new ideas by exposing them to practices in other arts, to enhance critical thinking about the way art relates to life and to broaden their perceptions as inidividuals in the twentieth century.
Founder: The 1984 Extraordinary Session of the Tennessee General Assembly mandated the program as a way of meeting the needs of Tennessee's top students.
