Interview with Tony Lawson
Tony Lawson was born in Pineville, Kentucky. He's the son and grandson of a coal-miner. Lawson moved with his parents to Tennessee when he was four years old. In the 70s, he attended East Tennessee State University, where he worked at a progressive radio station, WQUT. Lawson worked in commercial radio professionally as a Program Director, Music Director and disc jockey for the next twenty years. Since 1991, he has been working on creating WDVX, which finally began broadcasting in 1997. The radio station is a dream come true for Lawson.
