Paul Thacker of the peer-reviewed journal
Environmental Science & Technology uncovers connections among big businesses, big money, and industry-funded front groups disguised as grassroots organizations that misrepresent scientific evidence in an attempt to influence public opinion and policy.
Great job, Paul Thacker! I wish we could get Paul Thacker and Carl Prine together to do an expose on the insidious connections between the Bush White House, Big Oil with continually record-breaking profits, corrupt Congress, corporate lobbyists, contractors with cost-plus/no-bid contracts, the invasion/occupation of Iraq, Wall Street and the futures market, and the extraordinarily high price of oil. The big elephant in the room has done The Dance of Veils to obfuscate the truth and lie to the public. The elephant has no clothes. More and more citizens see through the veils every day. The more I read about big industry, the more disgusted I become at their unethical practices, extreme greed and malice aforethought to disenfranchise, disempower, and purposefully cause financial and bodily harm to the American people. I believe that abusers in power can and will get away with whatever they please when there is lack of regulation, oversight and consequences for their actions. Our society is, unfortunately, rife with examples across corporate America and in politics. When are "We the People" going to make ourselves heard and effect real change?
