Casing Chemical Joints

Carl Prine was here -- and he has the disposable camera pictures to prove it. While Prine is rarely "caught", he does tell the companies whose plants he infiltrates that they have a security problem. Here he relates the tales behind a few of his snapshots.

Here is a beach manufacturer with its doors wide open, which allowed me to go in and take a stroll.
This photograph shows the typical security at plants that make, ship or use potentially catastrophic amounts of deadly chemicals in 2002, shortly after the 9/11 attacks. This facility was in Chicago's meat-packing district, and the fences that marked it off from its neighbors had long fallen into decrepitude, easily allowing me onto their site and up to their anhydrous ammonia.
