EXPOSÉ goes inside an extraordinary investigation that unearthed hidden court records to reveal evidence of multiple victims of child sexual abuse, raising questions about some of the most cherished institutions in Idaho Falls.
In 2005 when the Idaho Falls Post Register ran an investigative series revealing years of alleged pedophile abuse by local Boy Scout leaders, the editors braced themselves for some backlash. But the fallout of the "Scouts' Honor" stories was far more dramatic than anyone had anticipated. EXPOSÉ devotes two episodes to the probe that led to fierce division in a small town, earned prestigious journalism awards, and triggered changes in Idaho's child sexual abuse law.
"In A Small Town" premieres online Wednesday, September 26 (part one) and Wednesday, October 3 (part two). Broadcast premieres will be Friday, September 28 and October 5 at 10 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings).
