This is the first of ABC15's segments on lax overnight security at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Lisa Fletcher's report includes hidden camera footage showing airport employees being waved through checkpoints with no bag checks by non-TSA security guards who take over between the hours of midnight and 4:30 a.m. Fletcher reports that, according to documents obtained by ABC15, airport officials were fully aware for 2 years that guards from an outside company would not provide searches, seemingly in direct violation of federal guidelines. The piece also includes interviews with an airport employee whose identity is concealed and Larry Wansley, an airline security expert. Fletcher reports that the TSA and airport officials have denied requests for comment and on-camera interviews. (7 minutes)
