Charles and Grace Sawyer Smith Gloucester Co. VA 1701

Gale Judkins April 2, 2012

Justephenica Smith, aka “Stephen I.K. Smith”, born 1703 to Charles Smith and Grace Sawyer, was baptized at Abingdon Parish Church in Gloucester Co. VA. We know nothing of his father, Charles, who was born about 1680, before he’s mentioned in the baptismal record. We know that Grace Sawyer was a daughter of William Sawyer and Mary Abbott, and that William Sawyer was a Jr. and Mary was the last surviving child of Christopher Abbott, who immigrated to Virginia in 1635. Who were the parents of Charles Smith?
