just an observation
Sometimes the math in your DNA revelations underplays the significance. To me, 8 percent of a particular heritage is huge. I’m very proud of being part Cherokee, but I estimate the DNA percentage to be about 0.2%. One thing that was driven home by genealogy is that until 1800 or so, any immigrant’s grandchildren were probably a mix of English, Scottish, Scots-Irish (but not Irish), Welsh and some sort of German (often what we’d now classify as Swiss or Dutch), with bits of French and/or Indian being common. Any given percentge would be small.
