My father, Raymond Otto SOPHER (b. 10/26/1912 or 13?) and Mary Isabel CONNER (b. 9/21/21?) of Streator, IL married in St. Louis — her parents were Wayne Conner and Marie Cox.
My paternal grandfather, Otto Pratt SOPHER (b. 2/27/1887 or 1890?) married Mary Ellen JOHNSON on 1/14/1909 in Streator, IL. Her parents were Abraham Johnson and ___ Slater.
Otto’s father, John Morgan SOPHER (b. 3/11/1847 in Washington, PA) married Roseltha/Rosa/Rose (b. 5/9/1846 or 47) C. Coleman (Colemann) on 1/25/1871. She was born in LaSalle and died in 1925 in Streater/Eagle Township, IL. Otto’s siblings included George, Maude, and Nimrod.
John’s father, Nimrod SOPHER (b. 3/22/1811 Loudoun, VA) and Naomi (Naoma)CANNON (b. ~1822 in PA and died in Streater, IL ~1898) married ~1840 in Washington County, PA. Nimrod’s siblings included: Hannah, Anne, Morgan, John Morgan, Carrie and William. Nimrod was a driver on the national highway, the turnpike from the east coast to the Midwest.

William SOPHER (b. 1785 in Loudoun, VA) married Catherine BALLARD/BELLARD (b. 1789? 1797?) in Loudoun, VA in 1810. Her parents were John Ballard/Bellard and Sarah Heston. Catherine died 1850. William’s siblings included: Elizabeth, Nimrod, Joseph, John, Catherine, Hannah, Mary, Ruth Anna, Sarah, Dennis and William.
