My great grandfather was Yiannis Angelopoulos. He was a rigoleto and his name listed at La Scala in Milan, Italy. I got the following blurb from the internet “Many famous names of the lyric singers participated in performances presented by the Greek National Opera, who later on became famous abroad. Among them was Yiannis Angelopoulos, whom the Italian Press characterised as the first “Rigoletto” of the world.” Apparently on my mom’s side we had many artists and I don’t know much about them. I am writing to you so that I can figure out how to begin my search. Perhaps you can help me find out more. Please write to be with some guidance. I have one record in storage that was a compilation of opera singers and there is one song of his on it. But, I have not pulled it out of storage in a while. I will be happy to if you need me to scan it.
