This Can’t Be True, Can It?
I tool advantage of Ancestry.com’s free trial to and “connected the dots” of all the work done by other people on their ancestors and also on mine. It seems that one of my paternal great grandfathers married Janet Hay in the early 1600s and her ancestors included kings and queens of Scotland and France. It is very time-consuming to do this generation by generation, especially when the line goes back to 44 AD and to a Grail King! It was mind-boggling (you can imagine) to see all this royalty and Holy Roman Emperors, etc but I must say my favorite was Adelaide, Queen of Paris in the 800s, Her photo is attached here.
What are the odds this is all true? Not very high, I think . . . but the idea of it changed me for a while. I still think about it from time to time.
