Inherited the Records of the Family

William Frye July 19, 2012

My Mother loved trying to trace our family line. She died 2 months ago and it all passed to me. She said we were related to the Meadors of Meador oil held by the government. She had a copy of a will from the early to mid 1800′s. She said we were related to Thomas Jefferson because of a copied letter from cousins writing about him and that the British would like to get their hands on him. I now have all the old family pictures or soon will have them all. I have what records she wrote down of who married who and their kids.

Everything I read I am trying to put it on ancestry.com. All that I read makes me feel closer to my Mother and the families that all came before. The bad times when young children die. My own Grandmother had 2 babies die and my Mother was actually born on one of their birthdays. I have a couple family bibles going back to the 1870′s. I read things that make me happy but there are things that have happened that I don’t know how they survived. The thing about death that really scares me would be the lost memories, stories and experiences. Family needs to be remembered by all not just a few. When I die who will take over the records? So many roads to go down and so little time. I miss my Mother and now reading all this I miss the ones I never met.
