Comment: I cannot thank GREAT PERFORMANCES enough for exposing Americans to the performing arts. I particularly appreciate its presentation of opera and ballet, and in a straightforward and non-condescending manner. Whether it's productions from the San Francisco Opera or Royal Ballet, or documentaries like "Aida's Brothers and Sisters," GREAT PERFORMANCES is a vital source of arts and culture, which can be enjoyed by those who may not be able to take in a live performance. Even though I am fortunate enough to be able to see great opera or ballet in person, I still make sure I tune into GREAT PERFORMANCES. I can only urge GP to do even more. It is such a crucial public service. Happy 30th!

Comment: Your opera presentations have been consistently outstanding. Keep up the great work.

Comment: "The Merry Widow": Fantastic performance on all counts -- no pun intended. The singers, dancing, sets, costumes -- all magnificent. Thank you!

Comment: It is refreshing to see so many people wishing for replays of their favorite GREAT PERFORMANCES programs. I am no different. Each week, I search the PBS listings hoping for a reprise of the wonderful GREAT PERFORMANCES from many years ago documenting the music of Lerner and Loewe. Perhaps, some day, this timeless show will be aired again.

Comment: I love "Hey, Mr. Producer! The Musical World of Cameron Mackintosh" because the song "You Gotta Have a Gimmick" from "Gypsy" was in it. I am using the song for three women in the talent show at Oakcrest High School. I would love to thank Thirteen/WNET New York and PBS for giving me GREAT PERFORMANCES. Happy 30th.

Comment: Please re-air the Paper Mill Playhouse productions of "Crazy for You" and "Show Boat." They were terrific.

Comment: GREAT PERFORMANCES is the best show that PBS has brought to the public. My favorite performer is Josh Groban and when I saw the PBS special that he did for GREAT PERFORMANCES, it was one of the best days of my life. I think we all need to do what we can to keep GREAT PERFORMANCES alive on PBS. Thank you PBS for all the wonderful things you have brought to us throughout the years! Keep up the great work!!!

Comment: I remember seeing "The Gospel at Colonus" while I was in high school -- it was fantastic. I saw it again after moving back to NYC years later. I still felt the same excitement like I did when I first saw it years ago.

Name: V. Dais
Comment: I am recommending this show to my entire family and friends: "The Gospel at Colonus" is a must-see performance for this time and age!

Name: Robert Siegel
Comment: I have been a huge fan of GREAT PERFORMANCES since I was about 10 years old. I especially am thrilled when I see programming from Broadway, which is much too rare these days, and musical performers such as Julie Andrews in concert, etc. I also love the tributes you have aired to Jules Styne, Richard Rodgers, Jerry Herman, etc. in the past. My only complaint is that you release far too few of these on DVD. I know many of these are independent productions, but maybe your video label could secure rights to release these wonderful shows from the past?

I hope to see more show music type programs, [and] in appreciation for all of this wonderful programming, I donated on the local pledge drive last night.

Comment: The Paper Mill Playhouse production of "Show Boat" was my favorite. ... I hope it will be re-aired someday.

Comment: The best ever performance has been "The Gospel at Colonus"!! When is it coming back?

Name: Janice Bowen
Comment: Another wonderful night of special music. Thank you to you WEDU and also to Josh Groban. He seemed to come out of nowhere and now is everywhere! What a great talent.

Name: G. Parrish
Comment: I viewed "The Gospel at Colonus" some years ago and it still ranks as one of the best TV performances ever.

Comment: I've been an audience member of PBS for as long as I can remember. One of my all time favorites is the 1983 Duke Ellington Tribute, "Ellington: The Music Lives On." I so languish for a repeat or even better a VHS/DVD. I'm sure countless others echo my thought.
