With the recent passing of Rodney King and in the 20th anniversary year of the Los Angeles riots, Great Performances presents an encore presentation of Anna Deveare Smith’s Twilight: Los Angeles Friday, June 29 at 10 p.m. ET (check local listings).

Conceived, written and performed by Anna Deavere Smith in her signature one person performance style, the play examines the miracle of human resilience through the lens of our current national debate on health care.

“An American in Paris,” “Rhapsody in Blue,” and Hancock’s improvisation on a Gershwin standard fill the bill.
