In this lesson students will view the GREAT PERFORMANCES program BERLIN PHILHARMONIC EUROPAKONZERT: FROM ISTANBUL.
They will then explore the significance of Istanbul in the cultural history of Europe and use the music of Mozart and Berlioz to enhance the telling of traditional Turkish folktales.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will research and explain the significance of the history, art, music, culture, and architecture of Istanbul.
2. Students will respond to music through drawing.
3. Students will design a folktale production.
