Every year, the Europakonzert celebrates the cultural life of a revitalized European community. A new location is chosen annually based on its significance in Europe's rich cultural heritage. This year, the concert is hosted by Europe's western-most capital, Lisbon. In this lesson, students will view GREAT PERFORMANCES' BERLIN PHILHARMONIC EUROPAKONZERT: FROM LISBON and discover the significant role Lisbon has played in Europe's cultural history. They will design an informational presentation that highlights the event and explores the connection among music, the visual arts, and literature.
