One morning while conversing with a younger gentleman at our local community center, where we would normally meet, utilizing the computers and chat about current events. This particular morning, our subject center around music, R&B stars that were decease..such as Luther Vandross and Barry White. This was when I mention, that due to the untimely death of the comedian Bernie Mack, another great R&B star, that I felt had been overlook, and not fully recognize for his contribution, was Isaac Hayes. To help the young gentleman, better understand my statement and why Mr Hayes was label the "Black Moses", I quickly search internet for PBS.com, because I recall one night (or should I say one morning) about 2 am while channel surfing, I saw "The Stax Records Story" on PBS. So with a little effort to locate Great Performances, I was able to suggested the viewing of "Respect Yourself: The Stax Records Story-The Birth Of Soul, plus "Wattstax". Hopefully this young gentleman will have a better understanding of the impact that Isaac Hayes and Stax music had during that time in history. Thanks PBS and PBS.com for being availible.
