ANDREA BOCELLI: AMORE UNDER THE DESERT SKY premieres during March Pledge in 2006 on PBS (check local listings).

The Tuscan-born Andrea Bocelli continues to seduce audiences everywhere with the same moving melodies and passionate performances that first enthralled American viewers in his 1997 PBS special ANDREA BOCELLI: ROMANZA IN CONCERT. Setting the standard for "crossover" classical tenors, Bocelli debuted on GREAT PERFORMANCES in 1999's SACRED ARIAS and has since become one of the most famous and beloved singers in the world. This new special was recorded in Lake Las Vegas from a concert venue that literally floats in the resort's signature 320-acre lake. With sweeping views of the area's Ponte Vecchio-style bridge and Mediterranean-themed village as a backdrop, Bocelli will perform songs from his current CD, AMORE, including "Autumn Leaves" and "It's Impossible," and is joined by special guest Heather Headley in a duet of "The Prayer."

Bocelli teamed with award-winning producer David Foster to record AMORE at the singer's home studio in Tuscany. The CD is a collection of mostly Italian and Spanish love songs and pop standards, including duets with Christina Aguilera, Kenny G, and Stevie Wonder. The evening's concert includes all the songs from AMORE plus a few new numbers. Find a complete directory of the music featured in the show in the song list, which also includes links to video clips, and watch excerpts of an interview with the tenor in Dialogue.

Special funding for ANDREA BOCELLI: AMORE UNDER THE DESERT SKY was provided by Lake Las Vegas Resort.

Many local PBS stations are offering the concert DVD and the AMORE CD as Pledge gifts. To order these items,
