change "Razzle Dazzle," a song which originally featured dirty jokes
and an orgy on a staircase. Fosse wouldn't budge until actor Jerry
Orbach hit him with a lot of convincing artistic jargon, intimidating
Fosse by highlighting his lack of serious theatrical training. While
"Chicago" opened to negative reviews, it eventually became a major
hit, and its creator would be lauded for his grim honesty and powerful
originality.
