NUREYEV: THE RUSSIAN YEARS: "Gayaneh"
Nureyev dances the role of Armen, a shepherd, in this ballet originally choreographed by Nina Anisimova, with music by Aram Khachaturian. It was among the nationalist works Nureyev performed while with the Kirov Ballet; he showcased the ballet's pas de deux with Margot Fonteyn on British television in 1963.
