A wealthy noble family of Verona, Italy, embroiled in an age-old feud with the Montagues, a rival family in the city. In Gounod's opera and this film adaptation, the family is comprised of Lord Capulet, his daughter Juliet, and Tybalt, nephew of Lady Capulet (a character omitted from both the opera and the film).
