The beautiful daughter of the Capulets who unwittingly falls in love with Romeo, the son of her family's bitter rival. In defiance of her family and risking their wrath, Juliet secretly marries Romeo. When her father, Lord Capulet, insists she wed Paris, Juliet takes part in an elaborate plan to fake her own death in order to be reunited with her true love. Romeo learns too late that Juliet is not actually dead and drinks poison because he does not want to live without her. Once Juliet realizes Romeo is dying, she stabs herself with his knife.
