A prominent and wealthy family of Verona, Italy, who are the bitter enemies of the Capulets. The only member of the clan presented in the film is Romeo; missing are Lord and Lady Montague, Romeo's parents, and Benvolio, Romeo's friend and nephew to Lord Montague -- a character included in Gounod's opera.
