International tenor sensation Andrea Bocelli first appeared on GREAT PERFORMANCES in 1999's SACRED ARIAS, after being introduced to public television audiences in A NIGHT IN TUSCANY and his inspiring STATUE OF LIBERTY CONCERT. His most recent album, ANDREA, has affirmed his status as one of the most appealing artists combining classical and popular music today. Now, in a unique presentation of art and athleticism, some of the world's greatest figure skaters glide across the ice to Bocelli's soaring vocals in ANDREA BOCELLI: TRIBUTE ON ICE. Joining Bocelli in performance are special guests Mario Reyes of The Gipsy Kings, as Brian Orser skates to their rendition of "Sin Tu Amor," and 12-year-old Holly Stell singing "Go Where Love Goes," accompanied on the rink by Ekaterina Gordeeva. Other highlights include Olympic gold medalist Brian Boitano skating to "Sogno"; Michael Weiss backflipping to "La Donna è Mobile"; and Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur in a passionate duet to "Time to Say Goodbye (Con te Partirò)." Rounding out the telecast, Bocelli accompanies himself at the piano in "Dell'amore non Si Sa (With Love You Never Know)," from his new album.

Performing in concert with champion ice skaters is not typical for the international singing star. Learn about his experiences working on the show and putting together his current CD, ANDREA, in the interview in Dialogue. Discover the long-standing tradition of the "crossover" artist in the essay by writer Tim Smith. Find a list of the musical selections from the program in the song list and download a screensaver.

Many local PBS stations are offering the DVD of the program and Andrea Bocelli's CD ANDREA as Pledge gifts. To order these items, pledge now.
