In the News: Preserving Stone Age Cave Art

For many years, archaeologists have pointed to southern France’s breathtaking Stone Age cave art as the first proof that the Human Spark had taken hold in our ancestors.

Lascaux’s bison, horses, bears and reindeer are world-renowned and viewing these ancient artworks can be quite moving. But all those awed visitors have added up to big trouble for these paintings.

How can we preserve prehistoric artworks while still allowing modern visitors to experience them in some way?
