In the News: 2009 Kistler Prize to Dr. Svante Pääbo

Dr. Svante Pääbo, an evolutionary biologist featured in The Human Spark, was awarded the 2009 Kistler Prize which honors “work that significantly increases knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the human genome and society.” He is known for his work with the FOXP2 gene which scientists believe may play a role in humans’ speech and language abilities.
