Spark Blog: Video: Humaniqueness

We made another stop at Harvard University’s Psychology Department to talk to Marc Hauser about his investigations into the evolutionary development of the human mind. He’s coined his own term for what we’ve been calling the Human Spark – humaniqueness. We human beings are so closely related to other animals as far as genes are concerned, but our abilities seem to far outpace those of other intelligent animals.

Watch Hauser explain to Alan Alda his concept of humaniqueness – and how we can draw on a multitude of talents to solve a problem, whereas other species are limited to just a few.
