THE RISE AND FALL OF JIM CROW tells the history of Jim Crow through the lives of individuals who suffered from and sometimes triumphed over their circumstances. In the documentary, individual experiences are used to tell the history of a people. This lesson examines the way in which history can be understood through the stories of individuals, stories that are specific to each individual and yet recount a larger historical narrative. find out more
