Web Exclusive: Our American Cousin, the Opera

In this video, composer Eric Sawyer talks about his vision of Lincoln’s life in his opera, “Our American Cousin.” “Our American Cousin” was also the name of the play that was performed at Ford’s Theatre on the evening of Lincoln’s assassination. This opera recreates that play, and includes a singing Abraham Lincoln.
